Terms of use

Hushspun (Satukone in Finnish) · Updated 9 October 2026

1. The service and who provides it

Hushspun weaves a bedtime story for your child and reads it aloud. The service is provided by Puuti Partners Oy, business ID 3645720-5, Mäkikulma 2, 37570 Lempäälä, Finland. These terms apply when you use Hushspun. You can reach us at info@satukone.app.

2. Who may use the service

Hushspun is meant to be used by an adult, and a child listens to the stories together with one. Your account is personal. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you suspect that your account has been used without permission. You are responsible for your own use as provided by law. You are not automatically responsible for everything that happens on your account. Without an account you can listen to the sample stories in the library free of charge. Creating your own stories and buying require an account.

3. Stories are made by a machine

The stories are written and read aloud by a machine, based on the ingredients you choose. The content of the stories varies, and every story may not match your taste. The length is picked as a range of minutes, for example 4–5 min, because the finished story runs a little differently each time. The adult decides what suits the child: you can read the story as text before listening and stop it at any time. This does not limit our responsibility for the service being as agreed and as required by law.

4. Story wool, purchases and subscriptions

Stories use story wool: a minute of story uses 2.5 g of wool. The length is picked as a range of minutes, and wool is used by the lower end of that range. A story read with your own voice uses twice the wool. You see the amount before the story is created. Listening again to a finished story uses no wool. A new account receives 10 g of story wool once, free of charge, when signing in. You can buy more wool as a pack or as a subscription that is billed monthly. Listening to a series from the shared library uses 1 g of wool, and after that the series can be listened to free of charge. For subscribers listening is free, and the sample stories are always free. Without a subscription you can add one child profile. Profiles already added are not removed. Story wool does not expire, and the end of a subscription does not remove it. Wool cannot be moved to another account and cannot normally be exchanged for money. Prices, payment, delivery, ending a subscription and changes to the price or to a service you have bought are governed by the terms of sale and subscription. You can read them at satukone.app/subscription-terms.

5. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you can withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason within 14 days of concluding the contract. Story wool pack: if you withdraw, you pay as compensation only the share of the pack price that corresponds to the wool used for stories up to your withdrawal notice, and we refund the rest. If you did not ask at the checkout for the service to start immediately, we refund the full price. Subscription: if you asked at the checkout for the subscription to start immediately, you pay only the share of the monthly price for the time that had passed when you gave notice, in proportion to the days. Story wool that was used is not charged separately. The detailed rules, the ways to withdraw, the form and the refund are described in sections 8 and 13 of the terms of sale and subscription. Withdrawing does not require deleting your account.

6. Rights to the stories

You may read and listen to your stories for your own, non-commercial use and share them with the app’s own features. This licence does not cover selling the stories, publishing them elsewhere or using them to train artificial intelligence models, so the stories may not be used for those purposes. You keep your rights to the material you provide yourself. These terms do not limit your legal right to retrieve your own content.

7. Shared library

You can share your finished stories in the shared library, where other users can listen to them. Sharing is based on your consent, which you can withdraw in your profile at any time. When you withdraw your consent or delete the story or your account, we also delete the copies saved in listeners’ libraries. The stories contain first names only and cannot be searched by name.

8. Your own voice

When your own voice is available to you, you can create a reader from your own voice. You confirm that the voice is yours and that you are an adult, and that you are not recording a child or anyone else. The voice is used only on your account, and we delete it when you remove the voice, when your access ends or when your account is deleted.

9. Acceptable use

Use Hushspun lawfully and decently. Do not try to bypass limits, load the service by automated means or produce harmful or offensive content with it. We may limit use to prevent misuse only as far as is necessary. We may end the contract and close the account if you seriously breach these terms. We normally first give a warning and a reasonable time to put things right. We may block use at once if that is needed to stop serious misuse or a security threat. We tell you the reason and the effects on payments by e-mail. Closing the account does not remove your right to a refund as provided by law.

10. Availability and changes

There may be maintenance breaks and faults in the service. We tell you in advance about maintenance breaks that we know of and that affect use. A maintenance break or fault does not limit your statutory rights. We may change the service if the change is needed to comply with a new law or an order of an authority, to address a security threat or to keep the service working in a changed technical environment. The change causes you no extra cost. Changes to a service you have bought and your rights are governed by section 7 of the terms of sale and subscription.

11. Liability

We are liable for defects and delays in the service and for the loss they cause as provided in the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. Hushspun does not replace an adult’s judgement of what suits a child.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account in your profile at any time. We then delete your stories, your story wool and your own voice for good, and we cannot bring them back. We tell you this before you confirm the deletion. Before deleting, you can ask for your own content at info@satukone.app. Deleting the account ends your subscription and future charges. On request, we refund the subscription fee paid in advance for the time after the deletion: write to info@satukone.app. Voluntary account deletion alone does not entitle you to a cash refund of unused story wool. This does not limit your right to a refund based on withdrawal, defects or the law. You can end a subscription, withdraw from a purchase and complain about a defect without deleting your account. We keep the information required by law as described in the Privacy policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may make clarifications to these terms that do not weaken your rights, and we tell you about them in the app. We may make changes that affect your rights or obligations only because of a change in legislation or an order of an authority, to address a security threat or because of a change to the service described in section 10. We tell you about them personally by e-mail in good time. A change that adds obligations takes effect no earlier than one month after the notice. Changes to the price of purchases and to the service are governed by section 7 of the terms of sale and subscription. A change does not remove rights you already have. The story wool you have received and your stories remain, and using your rights does not require deleting your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Finnish law. The choice of law does not remove the mandatory consumer protection of your country of residence. If we do not resolve the matter together, you can ask for help from the Finnish consumer advisory service at kkv.fi/en/consumer-advice and take the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board at kuluttajariita.fi/en. The Board gives recommendations. You can also take the matter to a competent court.
